OOH! OOH! OOH! NEW PLANT CATALOGUE !

I’m just looking through my new T&M catalogue and drooling. Isn’t it exciting! They’ve even included a deliberate mistake p.23. I’m in love with so many new plants. On the first page is a giant highly perfumed cascading begonia which could be just the thing for outside my back door so that I get a perfume hit each time I go in or out. I have two pots on the wall at the side of the door. Oh, but then there is sweet pea ‘sugar & spice’ they are lovely and sweet smelling….and trailing carnations and if you buy enough (10) you get a free window box….ah but then I’d have to get round to using the drill (don’t like the noise) maybe just buy 5 and not get window box:-) Can’t quite make my mind up. I wonder if the pot is large enough for the probably massive tuber of the giant begonia? For some reason these words are spoken with a rubbish french accent in my head, a la “fallen Madonna with the big boobies”.
There are some lovely new plants and I’ve only skimmed it really, there’s a beautiful fuchsia ‘amethyst beauty’, trailing rosebud pelargoniums, an 8ft tall pink tree lily. A climbing pelargonium!!! oh, I think it’s really a trailing one. A new and beautiful cottage garden mix viola…. oooh a beautiful pelargonium ‘flower candy’ mixed, a cross between ‘angel’ and ‘regal’ a new euphorbia ‘breathless’ very dainty but I’m sure I’ve seen it somewhere before. OH and WOW!!!!!! a fantastic oriental poppy that blooms 4-6 weeks and then a second flush from July to September. Aaaaaaaaah I am truly enamoured.
I just clicked on ‘publish’ when a little window opened and asked me if I was sure I wanted to publish my blog? eeek:o do we have a web page critic now? Return of paranoia :(( A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL: ))))) Ps I can’t have a nose or a line appears through writing????

I've got so many catalogues that the choice is bewildering....
Great to sit in the warm and plan, though - watch that credit card, Ba! LOL.

I know Spritz, I've just seen the most handsome tricolour pennisetum 'fireworks' . But they do have a few, what I consider, uglies, such as the daylily 'exploded pumpkin' honest, that's what it's called, and it does look rather like one. it's not exactly the 'look' I was going for myself :-) No Mad, not a drop has passed my lips.....yet ;-)) Hope you are feeling well?

Ah-ha! Just found the 'uglies' - and I agree. I don't like that peculiar Oxalis in red/white, either. That Pennisetum is great, though!
What do you think of the 'So eezee' idea? (p. 79). 'So expensive' I would say! Or 'so lazee' LOL.

I think the so eezee may be so disposable so you have to buy them each year:-( I don't really get it, is it just that you have pre-cut slits?? I'm not so sure about the giant begonias now, they may look a trifle incongruous in my not-so-large pots. Now what do you think of the oriental poppies? you can be brutally honest:-) and aren't you amazed at the deliberate mistake? I searched every bit of the page to find the geraniums:-))

Just looked at that Daylily - that is gross!!! Perhaps the oxalis looks better when the flowers are open?

Hi Wagger, but what about my oriental poppies? and have you seen the trailing osteospermum? :-))))

Had my T&M leaflets come aswell.

The Falling Stars look lovely but their basket is a bit white top-heavy - what happened to the other colours? Makes me suspicious that they're not as vigorous as the white. The Pennisetum is lovely but very expensive for what is ultimately 'bedding' - not hardy. I haven't got enough room to store what I have now let alone add to it, lol. The Super poppies? Not sure about them and I think I have enough orientals as it is. Will carry on browsing.

Oh you're very hard to please Wagger, and these poppies bloom for months according to T&M! I don't suppose I'll end up buying much if anything, but I always find it so exciting:-))))).....I've led a very sheltered life:-( ;-))))

I take everything T&M say with a large pinch of salt - they may, in ideal circumstances, with huge amounts of care throw up one more odd bloom later, etc. I think I'll take your last comment with a pinch of salt too!!! lol
