Snowdrop City

We had this idea of going snowdrop spotting. Walked our socks off on a freezing Feb Saturday

There were snowdrops planted in grass but they really were thin on the ground or still on their way…..Not too old to play hide and seek….

Super pics Bill. Hope you enjoyed your day. Snowdrops are always difficult to grow from the bulbs, that's why it's best to plants them while they still have some growth on the 'in the green' in other words. I do hope all those they have planted come up, eventually. :o

To quote Plato: " Only the dead have seen the end of war" ...let's hope the sandbags will continue to be used as planters for snowdrops.... never to return to their origional use.

Sadly the country of my parents birth and all my ancestors is a war zone right now. Ukraine is an example of Man's inhumanity to man. Robbie Burns said it first perhaps.

Is that gentleman sitting between the both of you a participant in a game of bocce ball? I see what appears to be one in his right hand, or is it an apple?

The Statue in Sackville Garden on the Edge of Manchester Gay Village is of Alan Turing the brilliant computer engineering pioneer.Father of modern computing. He put cyanide in the apple & took a bite out of it.

Yes! I know of his prediction (at the time, now confirmed) of oscillating chemical reactions. As a result of this he will also be known as the father of the "wet computer". This next generational computer will have a neuronal like structure and it's function within based upon these special chemical reactions....in short, a computer very much like our own brain and eventually having the potential of knowing itself and the environment around it.
