Pergola Garden Taking Shape

It’s a lovely cool springtime evening after a rather warm day. Temp. hit 30 deg C at our place early this afternoon and the sun had a bite to it today!
Spent most of yesterday working on the new garden space under the pergola. Bought in a few barrow-loads of new soil and Mick carried up over 20 rocks from the bush paddock. That was hard work. I had the easy task of just putting them into place.
I’ve got loads of plants ready to go in – Begonias, Impatiens, Coleus, Torenias. There are some Dwarf Pinwheel shrubs already planted beside the steps and I’ll be keeping some ferns in pots for the space as well.
Today I played around with positioning these plants and pots and worked some fertiliser into the soil. I’ll finish off the planting tomorrow during the cooler parts of the day.
I spotted a few of the familiar spotted Common Crow Butterflies (Euploea core) around the courtyard today and the lovely little Yellow-Spotted Honeyeater (Meliphaga notata).

Thanks Meadowland. I much prefer the use of natural materials if possible, especially here. It suits the bushland environment that surrounds us.

Beautiful wildlife Bernie. And it’s so good to know that it’s always Spring somewhere in the world!

You've certainly been working hard,BB...Good to see your garden designs are natural. It's lovely to see birds we probably would never encounter here.
