Pond in positon

Hi all, the pond is now in position and we have started to fill in the frame. We used a layer of sand approx 6" deep to rest the pond on and support the lower shelves. Next we put in 3 bags of compost and started to fill the pond. We are going to leave it for a few days to settle then fill the rest of the frame with compost. I found a nice piece of rock which wil cover the pipe at the top of the waterfall and which fits in nicely with the resin rocks. Hubby has built a bedding box into the waterfall frame and filled it with heather. Hopefully these will spread quickly so they can cover the rather obvious screw hubby used to keep the resin rocks in place! Still waiting for the electrician to get in touch to put in an outside power supply.

It's coming along nicely can just see the heathers. It will be great for you to have a record of it when all the planting has taken grown, because we forget how small plants are when they start off.

I can't wait either to see the finished pond (but in gardening nothing is finished, is it?) It is certainly coming on well now Buttybabe. You'll be thrilled with it I'm sure.

I can see a lot of progress has been made but you still have a way to go. I had no idea there was so much involved. I'm sure the finished project will be well worth all you've gone through.
