This morning wondering around the garden taking a few photos, i happened to upset these two they was on the feeders as i walk outside, and decided to fly of and sulk
As soon as i walked back inside they decided to try and get their breakfast, now i was out their way.

Maybe BB has a dating agency in Yorkshire for lonely Collared Doves... he matches them up with new partners and then sends them back to Blackpool. Lol.

Could be, but he'd be sending yorkshire doves to lancashire doves, that will get BB's thinking cap on when he see's this, he loves winding Sandra and myself up.

We had a pair of ring doves visit the bird table for weeks this year and they are supposed to be ground feeders!
We called them Mr&Mrs barcode cos we recken they were an item!
I was thinking of putting up a nesting box to attract them.

Sandra it does the world of good, better than any medicine, you know i've fancied a dove nest box for years, but not sure if my garden is big enough for one, as they are quite big are'nt they.

Thanks BB, keeping fingers crossed they will be ok. i've got a big wood pigeon comes, started calling him woody, cant get rid of him, so may as well make him at home like the rest of the birds.

Such sweet and placid birds..ours chase away the jackdaws which tend to attack their nests for eggs !
22 Aug, 2009
Sandra you've got alot of them pigeons that live on the streets and on bridges have'nt you i call them rats with wings.
22 Aug, 2009
dont know where they live carol but i have at least 8, dont get them all at once like i did but still come
22 Aug, 2009
The doves are gorgeous, but I hate it when our high street is full of street pigeons! The only thing I like about pigeons is the taste!!

Marie never had pigeon pie, what with never having sweet potatoe aswell i'm not very adventures with differant food at all.

i used to live on a farm, & the locals were all into hunting, so i used to get pigeon (only ate the breast, Fried like steak) pheasant, goose, chickens, venison, rabbits (the cat had those! They Stink when you cook them!) & fresh trout, oh, & lambs from another friend!- so my culinary education came on in leaps & bounds! Not keen on pheasant tho! My favourite meat of all is fried goose breast! Heavenly!
23 Aug, 2009
Marie you making me feel hungary, but i cant eat rabbit, not because i never tried them, just cant bring myself to eat a little rabbit, just think of them as pets.
23 Aug, 2009
I used to be like that, til I lived on the farm! I soon toughened up a bit!
I did find it hard tho, when I was informed one day that the roast I had just cooked & eaten was froim a calf I had hand-reared!!! That was awful!! :~(((
23 Aug, 2009
I bet it was, :~(((
