Garden Birdwatch 26-27th January. plus a very slow laptop.

I am the same,Carol,and the little devils seem to stay away,when I do it..even though I'm indoors,and trying to be discreet...You are wise not to have gone to the Gym,..no point in risking it if it's not essential..it's not icy here,and the snow is still very soft underfoot..but it's when it all gets compacted,and then freezes,which is the problem,isn't it ?..We are staying home as well ...

Tell me about it, i've just put abit more to this blog as i was also going to get a new laptop but that can wait aswell, i've got plenty of food in and plenty of cat food in plus plenty of food for the wild birds, so no need to risk going out when i dont have to.

They do the same here ~ I wonder where they hide for that weekend?

The gym will still be there when the ice has gone clarice and you can have some exercise brushing the snow away on the path to the bird table!

New lap top ~ thats exciting! The other option is ~ if you know which one you want ~ you could get it via the internet and the kind postman will bring it to your door!

Thought about ordering it on line, at the moment we have no snow its just slippy footpaths, at the moment the sun as started to shine so it may dry the paths out. The gym will still be there thats for sure, if i could drive or have a car i'd be ok.

The naughty birds seem to resent the census as they disappear here as well, its weird as its been happening for years almost as if they know, lol, I`m going to do two and then compare this year.........

Yes, stay indoors! very icy and bitterly cold.
I think we all know the feeling of sitting at the window and hardly seeing a bird on Birdwatch weekend...seems to happen most years, doesn't it?

Glad its not just me that sits like a stuffed dummy waiting for the birds to turn up :))))

Hi Carol so nice to see you here, hope your ok and glad you still going to the Gym, think you do very well going as much as you do, put me to shame lol
Im glad we havent got all the snow some have but your right it is slippy in parts so be carefull when you do go out.
Anyway im off now, think we are going to see step daughter who has been sulking some what lately haha, cant be doing with sulkers .

Do you know Holly when it comes to laptop etc i've not a clue what i'm looking for, as long as i can do just the bits i wont to on it, that will do me. Sandra i can't be doing with anyone who sulks lifes to short, i'm going of for abit going to make abit of lunch.

I've always done the bird watch, Clarice. We are so lucky here as we get such an assortment of birds! I love to watch them.

so do i rose, and i honestly dont cook them for my dinner ~ not any of them!

I will try to do the birdwatch aswell, although I don't get many birds in my garden. I think Blodyn scares them away.

Hi Carol, I hope to take part in the Birdwatch too ... we currently have a lovely Mistle Thrush coming in to feed ... if only the Blackbirds wouldn't chase it off all the time. Good luck with choosing a computer ... I wouldn't know where to start. Hope you, Jack and Tilly are all ok ... :o)

I think that all the bird's get together on bird watch weekend and hide themselve's away, having a right old laugh at us trying to count them, then as if by magic they all appear again on Monday!

Good to hear from you, Clarice, and thanks for the reminder about the bird watch. I am still enjoying 'Christmas' here with outings and meals organised by my family. We went to see 'Beyond the Barricade' Friday evening - excellent but very snowy on the way back! I received from grippy things for ice walking for Christmas too. Keep warm and safe :)

I have yet to see that film Gee, but hoping to soon.

It wasn't the Les Mis film, Sticky, it was a musical show put on by ex cast members of the stage show and featured music from all sorts of musicals. I'm sure you will enjoy the film though :)

Oh that sounds good, my youngest was playing a gig with one of the Les Mis cast last night!

Gee, OH and I saw 'Beyond the Barricade' a couple of years ago in Worthing ... a real mix of songs and styles .. loved it all.
