Thanks thinking about it i reckon my cable had been going for a while, as my laptop screen is really bright, it was cheap rang one of my daughters to tell her, and she payed £40 on Amazon for one:))))

You're good at finding bargains... electronics... plants... everything .. LOL.

The same happened to me. Couldn't understand why it was saying the battery was low when I had it plugged into the mains. When I looked at HP site for a new cable thye wanted £55. I wasn't going to pay that and found one for £10.

I'm so pleased it was'nt my laptop either, i did'nt even know that the cable wire would go wrong, i thought when it was pluged in it charged it at same time LOL :o)))

Lucky you Clarice, mine gave up a few weeks ago it just stopped and our computer guy had it all weekend only to be told it was the mother board grrrrrrrrrrrr, we were told it would be cheaper to go and get a new one which we did, but i still had to wait for all my details to be transfered on to new one, so here i am all happy again .....

Sorry you had to get new computer, i dont use my laptop that much and thought i could manage without one dead easy, but surprising i did start to miss it after a couple of days.
