New season, new start

Having recovered from my troubles, I have made some inroads to the garden. The shed that is housing the Bumble Bees nest has been partially sorted. I can now get to the nest without creating too much damage to it when I lift it out. The next job is to create new home for them. I have several pieces of decking off-cuts that I am going to use. The idea is to dig a hole & line it with the off-cuts, floor & walls, place the nest into the construction, & cover with a “roof” & then cover with soil. The important thing to remember is to leave access for them & also ventilation. The problem is, where in the garden am I going to put them? Oh well, I can sort that out as I go along. There is a lot of work to get stuck into, as the waterfall had to be undone due to a floating liner, that means a new stream liner, then replace rocks & pebbles & rebuild the bank. The shed has to come down. I need to save as much of it as possible, as I need to reuse the timbers to rebuild it as a summerhouse. Replanting with various “cushion” plants in the bare soil & placing stepping stones. Sounds grand, I just hope I can keep up with my thoughts & ambitions.

Thanks for that. I was hoping to make a start today. I woke up to rain instead.
Oh well, looks like I shall be pounding the pavements this afternoon with my walking group instead of the fields.

Good luck with rehousing the bees, and all the other work you have on. I hope we get a nice spring and summer so that we can all get things done. This winter has got so many people down I think, and it will be nice to have some fresh air and excercise :o)
