Bloody fox has had my little chucks
The fox has had my rooster
and my little black hen Plus her 3 full grown babysI have had my rooster for about 4 years now and he was lovely, The little black hen and her full grown babys were lovely as well. And over the last couple of nights they have all gone.they would not go into the hen house to go to bed .They sleeped on the top,of the hen house (silly birds)I really miss them and I miss the crowing in the morning I would of feed the fox if I thought he would of left my chucks alone I am feeling totally p//// off. .I have hand reared fox cubs in the pasted which was not easy But I am feeling very mithed about the whole thing

Oh Donnah what a shame. Your cockrell was a handsome boy. I went down our garden one morning and and found someone's ginger bunnie left to amuse 4 cubs under our garden shed. I felt sorry for the owner. Foxes really are rather naughty. Before that it was a large dead rat head pushed head first in the flower bed. That was for an earlier group of cubs to practice on.

Oh how horrible... I know it is nature and we have to accept but when you have cared for something it is never easy.

So sorry Donnah, such lovely chucks and rooster, what a shame.
One had our pet rabbit a few years ago, made her a run attached to hutch, as didn't like to keep her cooped up, got up one morning and all the chicken wire was ripped off the top of the run, and it was well nailed on, just some muddy footprints at first thought it was a dog, till a few days later when this cheeky fox was stood on patio watching us through the window, a pair of them visit quite often now to drink from the pond and have heard the vixen calling her cubs at night sometimes too, quite a freaky sound.

OMG Donnah! I am absolutely heartbroken for you. I don't know what to say - that gorgeous black rooster - are you sure it was foxes? I was so admiring them all only last week. I am SO sorry............

If the chickens had gone into the hen house like they should the fox could not get at them. He stands no chance getting into the avairy as it is double wired underneath so is the hen house

I'm so sorry its heartbreaking when you've cared for an animal/bird and then that happens - my friend lost all her rabbits - came down in the morning to find fur everywhere - just senseless. Lots of hugs xxx
