Father Christmases go Fishing

Another perfect day for a walk on the beach , again to inspect the legacy of the storm last week .
( We have had two lovely walks already this week , on different beaches , and the damage does not seem too drastic , although there has been a big clear-up effort we think .)
Well , as we came down on to today’s beach , there was a line of fishermen for as far as we could see . There seemed to be quite a few red tents ( a bit unusual ) and then we notice that most of the men were dressed in red , with red hats , and their tents were decorated with stars and tinsel . What was going on here ???

We accosted the first Santa that we came across , and demanded an explanation ( in the nicest possible way , of course ).
They were all from a group that “meets” on the internet and were there to support the Charity “Dare to Wish” , or something similar which sends severely disabled children to swim with the dolphins etc .
It was such a heart-warming sight , and they were having fun too .
There were at least 60 of them , from all over , one man had come up from Dagenham .
We just hoped that they would get a mention either in the Press or on TV as they were supporting such a worthy cause .
