Beware of the Gardening pages of the Sunday Papers

Well every time that I read through the Sundays I want everything mentioned and take lots of notes . Yesterday was no exception , all about Quince and Medlars , their wonderful blossoms and NOW is the time to plant ( would you believe ?)
Armed with my notes and OH , we headed to a nearby Nursery . The woman who showed us around was very helpful , and I bought a Quince Portugal , there were several kinds to choose from , and then I found the Medlar that I wanted , but OH quelled my enthusiasm as she told us that it had quite a spread , " one step at a time" , so I had to settle , might sneak back on my own .

Too right , Stera , those papers are always very helpful .
Andrew , it sounded like a novelty thing , the blossom is supposed to beautiful , and the fruit makes wonderful jelly . I believe all that I am told , don't you know .

Are you planning to eat the medlars if you buy one? The fruit is rotting before it is palatable.
