Evening soil lovers,

Well the weathers been very cool today (infact ive just lit the log fire)
Its been dry but cool But the forcast for here from tuesday is a lot warmer.

The gardens really starting to show signs of bright colours in every corner,
Ive planted 12 lettuce 10 beetroot and 3 red spring onions all bought as plugs to start an early crop while my own sees take off
all planted in what we call the small plot, its just outside the kitchen door and so very handy for picking as required,

The raised bed has french bean/sweet peas and broad bean in it and plenty of space for eight tomatoe plants when they’re a little bit bigger, plus sweetcorn.

In the greenhouse the cabbage seeds have all taken as have the cauli’s and sprouts and they’re all growing well and have been re-potted, so in a few weeks these will be going outside,

Ive sown pepper’s “red and green” on saturday , also more beetroots,
We really do use lots of the beetroots etc for chutney making and just bottling,
The pear/apple/plum/peach/ & cherry trees have all got leave’s showing,
Last year here in this part of france the cherry prodution was very poor but so far the amount of leaves of the trees gives the signs of a good crop!

It’s really nice to walk around the garden “cup in hand” just looking to see what appeared over night,
What i call the early morn inspection.

The birds are flying by with bits for their nest,
Yes everyday a new bit of life appears in the garden,
Makes you feel good to be alive.

Hows your garden growing?
