A nice country feel garden gate

Hello garden folk,
Well roll on tomorrow (1st june) I’ll be pleased to see the end of may,
they’re saying its the worst weather wise for 50 years and i can’t remember so much rain.
But we must try and get on with what we can ref our hobby of gardening,
Now when i had my allotment “infact when i took the plot over” I was given the key’s to one of the concrete tool sheds for my own tools etc to be stored in,
On opening the door i was greeted by verious old tools that had had thier day, ie a spade with the “T” shaped handle (the “T” bit was missing) and a fork with a few tines missing & last but not least a hoe with a broken handle,
As my sorting the plot out came to the seperating of the beds I decided to have a path in the middle and a gate to stop dogs etc just walking in and blessing my pea frame,
This is we’re the old tools came into good use,
I made a square wooden frame and in the frame i mounted the spade/fork/hoe, they we’re all fixed so that they could’nt be removed and looked really country looking,
That gate stayed there until the allotment sit was taken back by the council and it was a handy little gate.
What brought this to mind was because of all this rain im like a lot of us gardeners finding the greenhouse is the place to be and anyone with a greenhouse will tell you your mind tends to think of future gardening task,
Ive the field ive bought to make into an allotment and next year i intend to really start big time on that project,
This gate idea for inside the plot as a deviding gate will be used again,
Ive the broken tools to find in the verious brocante’s (car-boot sales) but i dont expect to pay much for them.
I thought it may give a few other members an idea of what to do with the old tools.

We ended on a good day Dungy, gardening all day in shorts and suntop, very stormy sky tonight though, I do like a bit of recycling and your gate sounds very novel and I bet it added a bit of character .......
