Evening all,
Well i thought I’d give you a very very simple idea for making a nice bird house,
All you need is a clay plant pot with the slightly larger hole in the bottom, a piece of wood to use as the back of the birdhouse, 4 x screw’s and 2 x pieces of thin wire,
Now put the wood down on the work bench,
place the plant pot so the bottom of the pot is facing you,
screw in 1xscrew in each corner of the wood
Now tie the first piee of wire from the top lefthand side screw and cross it across the pot so it can be tied to the bottom righthand side screw,
do the same from the opposit side top screw and now you have a plant pot mounted onto the wood, (make sure you’ve not reduced the entry hole by crossing the wire over it)
All thats left to do it mount the completed nest pot onto a tree or wall or your choice of fixing.
Its a warm /dry and cool place in the verious weathers and the birds love this sort of simple nesting home.

Thats a great idea dungy must give that a go.
I found a good idea the other day, fed up of putting food out for the robin and the magpies eating it all I found an old aluminium teapot, wired open the lid,and hung it in the rose bushes by the handle, I can now feed him his favourite mealworms and suet pellets and he actually gets to eat them!!!keeps the food dry too, I watched from the window and within half an hour it was being used not by the robin but a great tit, the robin and his mate have found it now though, some great ideas on Pinterest :-)

Thanks Dungy thats a great tip and would work marvellously amongst the ivy on the fence, definitely no shortage of pots to use...
Simbad I like that idea as well, the starlings are the problem here, thanks for the tip...

We don't get any starlings here Lincslass, strange I remember when I was small they were always the first birds when any food was put out.
Found some great ideas on the net last night like these garden gates made from old metal headboards I love them and must have one in my garden one day, not sure where yet but thats just a minor blip lol.
