Choosing some iris for my garden

Still have not been cleared as fit to return to work & seeing a musculoskeletal specialist this morning. As not able to get out into the garden, have been whiling away the hours choosing & ordering plants online. A couple of days ago it was irises I was ordering & I was amazed at the hundreds available at two specialist iris online nurseries …both in the South Island here in NZ. Hope you enjoy the pics below, which are just a small selection of those available to order.

Flowers are so beautiful now the dull days are here. I enjoy them more in the winter months. Have loads saved on Favourities.
Thank you to all our Goy photographers.

How on earth do you begin to choose from such beauties! !

I found it really hard to choose, but in the end I chose Arctic Express, which is fourth from bottom, Midnight Dance which is third photo scrolling up from bottom & a dwarf iris called Sweet Plum, which I posted as an individual photo a couple of days ago. There are so many others which I really like, but need my OH to dig out some more garden beds for me.

To be on your place, Dwyllis, I would buy them all, lol. They are so beautiful. That Sun warm I feel even here, where we already have zero degrees of Celsius :)))

Sounds very cold over your way, Katarina. I hate feeling cold. Our spring has been cold, wet & windy, but at last we are enjoying some warm days. Stay warm!

Tommorrow will be 14 C. That´s not so bad. That Iris No 10 from the bottom is excellent...hm..love it.

Sorry to hear you are still having problems Dwyllis, it must be so frustrating for you but better to be careful..
I never realised there were so many Iris to choose from, don`t think I`d know which ones to choose, they are all lovely...

That's a new iris out this year, Katarina. It's unusual in that it's colouring is a true brown, which I think is relatively uncommon in the flower world.

Hello Lincslass. I have shown a relatively small selection of the iris available or purchase online from specialist nurseries in NZ. Like you, I had no idea there were so many different ones .....& most of these are the tall bearded varieties. There are also the median & dwarf bearded types, & the Dutch types, & others as well, which are very pretty but less well known.

Dwylis@Do you know the name of that one, please?

Hello Katarina. It's called Owyhee Desert .....available from The Iris Boutique here in NZ, but sold out ....described as being rusty tones with gold wash & white fan. It's one of the bearded intermediate irises, so taller than the dwarf rises, but not quite as high as the tall irises. Hope you manage to find it from somewhere.

Lovely irises, Dwyllis ... which to choose ...?
I hope you feel better soon. It must be frustrating not to be able to go out in the garden.
