Our Shopping Channel Buy

The Shopping Channels have a fascination for me. When there’s nothing worth watching on the other channels I have a look to see what 16 and 22 have to offer.
This year we fell for the Begonia Apricot Shades Patio Plug Plants offered by Richard Jackson.
When they arrived we found them to be small but sturdy. My husband did the looking after and I planned where they were to be planted.
We decided on the garden walls which have been hollowed out to receive pot plants. (This was to put an end to all the weeding we have done over the years there. A membrane covers what soil there is in the wall and we have gravel on top of the membrane. We vary the pot plants we place in the walls.)
We still have a very nice display as I think the images prove. I visited the QVC site and was shocked to find so many reviewers complaining that their plants had “done badly”, even died. I can only assume that the plants were not looked after properly as ours have done so well.
What do you think? Have you ever bought any plants from a Shopping Channel?

I have never bought them, but have seen the programme, I think people are told how easy they are to grow, and fall for it without having the experience to grow them properly. They look lovely with your TLC.

I've never bought from the shopping channel myself but my dad used to love it and he had some very good plants over a number of years, yours look smashing.....

I have allways had trouble with using Apricots and peach colour in the garden but planted together enmass like you have done is just WOW eirlys.. Beautifull even..

that was money well spent then. I 'm always dubious about tv shopping. perhaps I'm missing out. What a stunning display.

We have no telly so never see the shopping channels, but you have a winner there.

That is a great display. I love what you have done with the wall. I have never used a shopping channel but both my older brother and sister do. They have both had excellent value for money over the years and when my brother lost a fruit tree it was promptly replaced by the seller. It is a good way for elderly people to have plants delivered to home especially if like my sister she has to rely on family and friends to take her to a garden centre. I should say both of them have years of experience of gardening.

I have sent the same images to QVC as I think it is only fair to them, to Richard Jackson, and to Thompson & Morgan, to show that the plants did do well for us. The people at QVC were equally complimentary!
