That awful compost heap

Over the years our compost heap has grown, and grown! It became an eyesore when we had our laurel hedge cut down and we decided something had to be done.

We have twice used an artificial hedge : once to hide our oil tank; and once to hide the bins. It seemed a third was called for.

Obviously the real thing is best but at our age we can’t wait that long!! Anyway the artificial hedge is now established and we are pleased with the result.

What do you think?

It looks terrific! I had seen these advertised but it wasn't until one of the local garden centres used it as a backing for their plant benches, that I realised just how effective it can be, and it comes in a range of heights - ideal.

Exactly what was needed!

We're pleased! Other Half was not at all keen when I had suggested this for our oil tank area but finally agreed.

Everyone liked it so much we got some for our rubbish bin area, (Ladybug7).

Then after the towering laurel hedge was decimated we had a great view of heathland with cows and ponies, but also now of that awful compost heap. Something was needed.

I have seen some awful artificial hedges but these from Primrose.co.uk (hope I'm allowed to post that), are very
realistic.

I believe I posted images of the oil tank and rubbish areas in previous blogs. If you have awkward spots in the garden these hedges really are worth their cost.

Must be our age but we also have the two areas of artificial lawns! Bought some for our Younger Son and every time we visit the garden looks tidy!

Would a true gardener approve? Doubt it!
