Great pictures, Fran. It's always the blackbirds in our birdbath ( old metal dustbin lid). They love it.

thanks Louisa and Tuesday. I've actually tweaked the setup a bit more - the birds were square on to the trays which were square on to my viewpoint, so I couldn't get any side shots. So now I've turned them to be diagoneal - no idea if the birds will continue to be square-on to them.
The bigger tray is actually a cat litter tray, Tuesday - I have several (though no cats) because they make handy all-purpose deeper-than-usual trays.
