To everyone on Goy a very happy Easter,
Traditionally the time when all the garden centres fill the racks with this years offerings, so a great time to visit a garden centre somewhere. But beware of late frosts.
Have a wonderfull weekend.

That's if you can get to a garden centre! We have the traditional traffic jams around here as well. A13, M25 at a standstill this morning!

Happy Easter, FF. Just returned from a visit to a garden centre (very brief to collect new light for my fish tank) - it was almost deserted!!

Happy Easter to you all.

I have been doing my bit, visited two Garden centres this week. One was a disappointment. Our nearest one is a fuschia specialist, but they also do bedding plants and some veggies. Got most of my plants and equipment there last Spring. This year, there are empty spaces, they obviously haven't ordered in new stock for this year (the exception was seeds). As an ex-shopkeeper, all the signs of a business in trouble. We spent a couple of pounds, not being able to find the things we had gone for. To add insult to injury, the Cafe has "cut back" too, only serving cold sandwiches and Jacket potatos - no egg and chips with apple pie to follow! Went home in huff, for a bacon sarnie.

The second one, we have visited today, previously was owner run, but this year has become part of a group. Well stocked, clean, well run but now lacking in personality.
Did buy something, a Nandina Domestica (Heavenly Bamboo), I had one a couple of years ago which died, so I have replaced it with a rather lovely one. It is raining today, so will have to take it's phot over the weekend.

Happy Easter Gardening.

Hi Marge
wet to see my local fuchsia grower ~Gower Fuchsias and although their web site says open from March 1st she said they have nothing at the moment but they will take orders and they will be ready in six weeks~said the cold winter had made them a bit late this year~they are a big operation and sell thousands of plants so maybe your local one is also feeling the cold winter blues!Give them a few weeks and try again.
Happy Easter to everyone and lets hope it is warm~please!
