My First Carrots

After becoming interested in gardening and growing all my flowers in pots, I decided to try growing veg. Carrots were the obvious choice for me as I’m not the best veg eater in the world. I chose Chanteray as these are my favourite in the supermarket. I planted the first ones early April I think.
I asked the advice of my veg growing friend on when I’d know they were ready?
This is the first one We pulled on 30th June 2010
Rather small I hear you say not big enough to feed your average bunny.
On 22 July 2010 we tried again. It was an important ceremony so the camera came with us.
First choose a carrot,
Next – pull and pull a bit more.
And there you have it 2 lovely carrots. Chanteray are a short dumpy carrot so good for growing in pots.
So all you need now is the ‘champion’ gardener and her trusty advisor showing of the sucessful produce.
And finally 2 prize specimens ready for the pot and a few more ready for pulling.
