Helleborus  ' Double Queen '

Is this early ? it has 7 flowers and buds on it ,it was new last year and is flowering for the first time .. Nov.2011

Oh how beautiful Amy. I would say it was early. It will be interesting to find out how long it stays in flower. - Through to next spring I hope!! I have added this one to my wish list ... gorg

Thank you both .. It must have been in flower for some time because it has several fully open flower heads as well as the buds ,it would be lovely if it lasts until the spring Poppy , I will keep an eye on it to see how long it blooms for .........

I agree i think its flowering early but lovely to see it, as it so lovely i hope it stays in flower along time for you, or i wonder if they will die off and come back again in spring.

I think it's early Carol and was surprised to see it this morning ,I would be nice if it did come again in the spring , No more i'm afraid TT ,I had a good look round to see if I had missed any !

Is yours the same kind Scottish ? it's lovely to find such a welcome surprise Dawn /Sandra I hadn't been looking round very much this week I've had a friend over from Australia so the garden wasn't getting the full attention , Thanks Maureen :o))

Is mine the same?....I wouldn't know one end of a helleborus from the other :)
Not a double - there is a picture is in one of my blogs - all the label said is Oriental Hellebore...it's similar in colour!

Yes Angela it's nice to do it when you have a few extra mins. it dosn't often happen here during the summer months i'm afraid ! Good idea Tet , it's lovely to have a pretty flower so early in the winter months :o)

This is a beauty,it is worrying the number that have flowers, still enjoy while we can.It will be interesting to see if the flowering is effected much in Jan/Feb hope not.

For thoes of you who like me love this Hellebore of Amy's I Have Googled it And it is a commercial strain that comes in many different shades so you could be disappointed if purchased out of flower.

Thanks for that Brian you are right ,it does actually show it in different colours on the plant label , it also says grow in non acidic soil , my soil is acid it hasn't done it any harm so far ,time will tell , I'll let you know if it has seeds !
