I will Sixpence, the flowers are flat headed and white, I have some on another bush :-)

That is great will look forward to seeing it, elder flower is very good it repairs every organ in your body so I ve read if its the same elder.

We tried to make elder flower champagne a couple of years ago but I think it went a bit wrong, lol. PansyP put a recipe up for Elder flower cordial a couple of weeks ago too. Then of course the berries can be used to make wine. Yes, its the same as the common elder.

Oh thats great you ll have to have a go again with the champagne. The cordial that is what is the best for you the fizz is bad for bones, it also is good for taken as an anti inflamatory.

Sounds good Sixpence, better than popping Ibuprofen.
8 Jul, 2010
Yes it is Dawn far better. Also fizzy pop of any kind is not good for woman with the bones as when you go on the change it can increase the rate of brittle bone desease.

I'll limit the fizzy drinks then but I do need a splash of tonic water in my gin, lol. Bottled water in plastic bottles, left in the car in sun is bad for you too, causes cancer, apparently.
8 Jul, 2010
Any fizzy drinks also dehydrates you so remember if you are dehydrated only water is good for you my daughter told me when my mum was in hospital she was dehydrating after the operation, she wanted her tonic water, my daughter said no, so she asked for cordial my daughter said no to that too only water so remember if your ever ill. Lol you ve got to have a bit in your gin lol.

Such beautiful leaves and the colour just glows. Do you have much trouble with runners from it?
