Glowing!

Glowing!

This christmas present couldn't wait to get out of the box! It was doubled over when I opened and planted it on boxing day ~ but now here it is! Warm and glowing on a cold winter's day.

They are lovely flowers, Sticki! :-)) I just had to add this photo to my favourites!

Hope you can keep it for many years! :-))

I have 5 different plants in flower in our living room at present, though tomorrow it will be just four - for a couple of days! I have several more bulbs about to start flowering as well. :-))

To get them over a long period you need lots of plants & I have about 50 pots of Amaryllis bulbs! They are all grown from my own seed as well.

Did yours flower on christmas day kat?

Thanks Balcony, I hope so too! 5 out in flower must be quite a show! but 50 is amazing! There is one bud to come ~ so I hope that will flower too although it looks a little smaller?

Growing them from seed is incredible ~ that must take a long time?

I was given one last year......it is a lovely present. What are you planning to do with it once the flower dies back. The leaves form.....mine are still strong. I think I should have lifted it and let it dies back.

Beautiful colour!

We have two in bloom at the moment, and, disappointingly, they are both "white". I say "disappointingly" because we were told they would be red.

One plant is massive and looks as if it could be a Triffid in disguise. The flowers are very large also.

Agree; they make great Christmas gifts.

thank you Eirlys ~ if i could have found another one I would have chosen white or that lovely red and white striped one

sorry you were disappointed, its a real shame when labelling and information is wrong.
