How long did it take you to grow them to this from seed, Cinders? And I guess you need a greenhouse for propagation? What have you used for containers...looks a bit like a wrap rather than a pot?

I think I planted the seed early September, and they were up in a couple of weeks. I shall protect them in my greenhouse for the winter, but after that they should be ok outside. The containers I am trying for the first time. I bought them as flat discs at the GC. You stand them in water and they swell up to the size they are now and I pricked the baby plants straight into them. It is like a plastic propogator with a lid,but I wont put the lid on unless it gets very cold, and I might be tempted to bring them indoors then.

Thanks for the details, Cinders...I've not seen the flat disc containers before...clever idea. Good luck with it...

You can have some wonderful colours from heuchera seeds
They do not often come true from seed but as I say lots of lovely colours maybe.

I think it good fun collecting their seed to see what comes from them.
Our national collection always looks a bit tatty when all the seed heads are on but they could be carrying treasure so I have to leave them on for a while lol
