Mead Cottage

Mead Cottage

The back garden was long and narrow and very steep, the different levls were reached by a series of steps which led to a country lane and open fields. The whole garden was filled with country garden flowers and plants and we had lots of wildlife visitors, incuding hedgehogs, squirels, stoats, and even neighbouring sheep that escaped from the fields. The variety of birds was fantastic ,one day there was a Harris Hawk resting in one of the trees,it had a tag on its leg so must have escaped, from captivity, I was lucky enough to get right under the tree and video it.

This is simply beautiful......do you no longer live there? I hope the new 'keepers' of Mead Cottage are kind to it, I'm sure they will be.

Thanks scott, we left the cottage in 2004, mainly due to access and parking, it was such a wonderful place and I will never forget the wonderful years spent there. Apparently the lady who bought it doesnt like gardening and has made some very drastic changes to it which is so sad!

That IS sad. Why do people buy these lovely places if they don't actually enjoy them the way they are? Seems criminal to me. If you don't like gardening, why buy a house with a garden? People are odd.

Still, you have some good memories, and lovely photos to back them up

Thanks Scott I agree entirely, still like you say we have our wonderful memories!

It's so beautiful!
A lot of birds around here have tags, but they're still wild. They just get caught and tagged for research and then released.
