This is wonderful news Jane, so pleased for you, I can see he has a mealworm in his mouth.

Took it from your hand! Amazing. Proof that Robins are definitely the most friendly of garden birds. How did you get so close to it or did you just wait until it came to you?

Wonderful.

Great achievement, BB, lovely to see.

Jane must take the credit - she noticed this fella getting increasingly bold and quite noisey as I was working in the garden. He then took this mealworm straight to his partner and returned for more ..

Reebeesfleurs....he started calling when he was nearby, and looking as if he wanted to come down.Started off by putting mealworms next to me on bench, then put them near my hand. Finally crouched down with them on my fingers, and he just hopped along and took them one by one.It was a series of manouevres that took 3 days to reach the point at which he took from my hand ! Bless him...he is lovely !

Amazing acheivement you two !

Hello you crazy flower person lol - Jane has to take the credit though he isnt sexist and will sit with me too ! Our birds seem to recognise we no threat to them and to sit in the garden when even the shyest of them come back to feed is such a thrill.

I'm sooo jealous !

19 Apr, 2009

Our problem of course is Henry - all the birds disappear as soon as he goes into the garden! No chance of playing bird-tamers for me! :-(

(Sorry - that was meant to be a joke...not a very funny one!)

19 Apr, 2009

we have a pair that come within 2ft but wont take anything from my hand - yet. they will chatter at me when i unearth a worm and it is too close to me. and as soon as i pick up the camera they fly.

i am really jealous bb.

Thank you - well you wouldnt be without Henry , Spritz but sure the birds return as soon as he s indoors , they have to contend with cats and other predators so dont think they too bothered by him..

Very lucky Seaburngirl as he chose to be bold and did the same whilst I was gardening - just moved mealworms close along bench until he took one out of Janes hand ..they will get bolder as they have young to feed .
