Thank you. Yeup, it looks great. It isn't actually drystone. There is a breeze block wall behind all the stonework and then the stone is compo ed in at the back. Looks like a dry stone wall, but is stronger.. They have to hold A LOT of earth back. field drains all over the place, it was a major engineering job! So pleased we are nearly at the end, it's been 3 years hard labour, literally. Jx

Looks wonderful! Love the cat too :)

That's Daisy. She is about 18 and a bit doddery and senile. She keeps forgetting she's eaten, which can be a tad irritating at times. But we don't mind really, she's such a cutie. Jx

Oh, wow, Jane! A long haul, but soo worth it! I love everything about it!
I bet you were having 10 a day at times... ;)
I know what it's like living in a building site...I've got a penchant for renovating old houses...
Now on the third in nine years...and definitely the last...well, actually, I've said that every time...
But, as soon as they're finished...I see another "project", and instantly forget how awful it is being surrounded by mud and pallettes of blocks...and, builders! lol!
Would your OH like to come down and face all my little walls...got all the materials...just waiting for the man who can... ;))

Aw poor Daisy. Suki is 15 now and still looks kittenish but I've noticed she is having a wee bit difficuly climbing the fence.

Thanks all. Karen, my man wot can, would be on his way, trowel (or whatever they use) in hand, but....................I haven't quite finished with him yet. Have to break the news gently to him, that I would like a summer house, where the static caravan is in some of the other pictures! - with fire pit and landscaped gardens around - of course. Jx

Oh dear, he'll be busy for a week or two...
My man wot can't may well have been, and bodged the job by then...
Sounds terrific, though...
Can I come to the summer house warming?? x

Well it WAS................................. :-(
6 Jul, 2012
is it draining away? that wall is so beautiful and the paving too.
6 Jul, 2012
Yes it is Sticki, which is a credit to Mick's engineering. There are drains on either side of all the walls and running underneath, as the field drains, run down hill towards the walls. I think Mick put in about 8 new drainage ditches in all. If they can stand this amount of rain, then they must be pretty sound. So it could be worse. lol Jx
