I think so - we used to do this as kids and it worked a treat lupin seeds are easy ones - I've just mastered marigolds and antirinuims - I collected them last year and potted them a couple of months ago - looking good so far - I couldn't make a living out of it though :)

Beautiful, and always a good idea to save seed, but don't mean to put dampener, but the seeds for this are highly toxic, so keep well away from animals/kids where ever you store them...and they are so easy to grow from seed you don't even need a greenhouse San just a tray full out side in a sheltered spot or make shift cold frame in the garden will do...also did you know if there is a wilkos near you they have them pop up ones in there really cheep at the moment.......you could pop it up somewhere tell baz it was half price in the sale...which they are at the moment,,,and let him know how much money you will be saving him by growing your own plants rather than buying them :D

thanx for that ang.. will keep them in safe place,, i do have small pop up so sorted,, and yes it saves alot of money, every time i pass somewhere with plants i have to buy one , just got home with another plant now haha shhhhh!

18 May, 2009

OK guys fill me in. What kind of plant is it. Definately cool looking and I won't eat the seeds!

hi regina, its a lupinus very common here in uk, im sure you would get them over in the states, you would have to look them up online, this one is gallery series pink but they come in differant colour :o)

18 May, 2009

it's a Lupin Regina, they are lovely plants and easy to grow, and no eating the seed defo a bad idea..... and San lol another good thing with a greenhouse - even the pop up type is that you can buy plants while 'he' is at work, remove any sale stickers from the pot, and any kind of wrapping hide them up in the greenhouse for a week or two, and then when Baz is in the garden let him see you getting it out of the greenhouse, and show it to him saying..'.look at what i grew from seed...see how much money this greenhouse is saving....maybe we should get a proper/bigger one!' ........ there you go two birds one stone ;-)
