Oxalis

Oxalis (Oxalis)

I have no idea what species this is - but it does behave itself and stays in one place...

The only ones I have are those I don't want.

I would lok very pretty in a nice little pot to contain it!

I think it's a bit too tall and floppy for a pot, Pp!

has this one just appeared Spritz or did you plant it? because i have one that looks very simular to this the just runs riot in my front garden, and it has managed to get into the back now too, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of...i would'nt mind so much if it was'nt for the fact that come July it will be completely covered in rust! :-(

No, I inherited it. When we had the garden room built, I dug it up and saved it until the new bed had been dug. It has been there for nearly 3 years and hasn't spread or got rust or anything as awful!

I had a small oxalis that got rust in its first year - out it went!

thats good Spritz, i had a lovely neat little clump in my last garden, that was'nt a problem, always had lots of flowers, but the ones i have in this garden...there are 2 or 3 varieties that are a real pain, the one that looks a bit like this always comes up all leaves and no flowers, and everytime i try to dig it up all it's tiny little bulbs the stems snap off and the little bulbs go deeper into the soil and and break up into more little bulbs. it just gets worse and spreads even more, and a little yellow one with dark leaves that is horrendous the flowers are so small that you don't notice them and before you know it they have exploded seeds everywhere, and they both get covered in rust and then make there way though all my beds spreading it around EEeeeeekkkkkk!

I am lucky to have this one, then!
A lot of my 'Iron Cross' ones haven't come back up this year. :-( I shall have to get some more in the autumn.

i think i have some spare Spritz, i have been selling iron cross on ebay, i dried out loads of bulbs at the end of last year i am sure i can find you some if you want some, don't think they have all been planted or sold. mine are just starting to appear in the beds now, but not as many as i had last year by the looks of it, so maybe due to cold weather this year? now that is one vareity i do like! :-)

Yes, please, Angie! I do like them. :-)

i'll have a look for you tomorrow see what i can find, if not i'll just dig you up a clump before they get too big and difficult to move.
