By Janey

Asparagus Fern flowers (Asparagus officinalis (Asparagus))

Pity it has gone out of fashion, I think it looks great in a vase of flowers.
The roots are beneficial too, they are known to have been used since about 500B.C. for medicinal purposes, in fact eating the spears is a relatively new use for these plants., I'm not an expert on asparagus, only found it out while researching it. I've just panted it in my garden, used to grow it in my last garden because my husband loved the spears but it usually ended up in a vase, Lol.

Hi Xela........that's interesting about the roots...I wonder if they were dried and ground into a powder, what do you think they were used for? Ours is just sending spears up....I love the taste don't you? A good way of eating them is to frizzle them with a drizzle of olive oil and garlic.......:o)
