Was sold it as a marginal for the pond - so in the pond it is! It's classed as a 'wild flower' (I think) so should be good for nature.
I was toiling to get pond plants for part shade - went to one GC and was sold 2 plants which the guy told me were fine for shade - getting home doing research - don't think so. They went in the bin as I'm not good at going back to shops for things like that. Too short tempered!!!!!

Would iris sibirica work there, I wonder? I only mention it because I had one, which was beautiful...until midsummer when it literally fried and died in the sun.:(

I wasn't sure if the area gets enough sun for Iris Karen...thought they needed full sun which was why I didn't buy any. I've got this, an acorus and something else with a very long name that I can't remember in there at the moment so will see how that goes.
If those fail - then back to the drawing board.
