Thats pretty special D. Very different from UK. The pink blossom of this tree just means spring to me. Good thing I dont live in California, I would be totally confused!!

That's Funny! Then you'd be very confused now...because many of the tropical/subtropical trees (and there's many) start blooming in Fall through Winter into early Spring here in San Diego.

I post a lot of photos of the winter flowering tropical trees such as: Hong Kong Orchid tree (Bauhinia x 'Blakeana'), Dombeya species, Calliandra species, Tabebuia impetiginosa, these are just a few of the many.

I will look out for them D. This could be my remedy to be whisked away for a few moments from the delights of an English winter. I've added you to my favourites.
