Thanks Sticki - I call it graceful!
18 Sep, 2012
Graceful yes, I agree. I said shy because the flower behind the leaves reminded me of a girl hiding behind several fans?

That's beautiful! Is it an annual or evergreen?
20 Sep, 2012
It's a hardy (ish) annual/biennial Delonix.

It reminds me of Crotalaria agatiflora - Canary Bird Bush or tree. Does Canary Bird Bush grow there? I know it's native to tropical Africa; however, it's really hardy!

That is stunning!
20 Sep, 2012
Yes, that's the one.
It used to be much more common; available in every nursery. I don't see it available too much, anymore (or I just don't pay attention to it. lol).
It's one of the few shrubs which has chartreuse flowers.
20 Sep, 2012
Struggling to find the seeds for that.................
20 Sep, 2012
I'll see what I can do...
21 Sep, 2012
Sorry - I wasn't trying to drop a hint there!
21 Sep, 2012
I know. I just thought I'd help you out. I think the dry garden in Balboa Park has this plant. I'll check it out.
This shrub can produce copious amounts of seed...like most shrubs/trees in the legume (pea) family.
22 Sep, 2012
Very, very kind of you!
22 Sep, 2012
Well, I see you're back to Iciar again. lol!
I just like to help another plant-lover out.
24 Sep, 2012
I clearly have a split personality! To be fair, my alter ego has not popped up for some time now!
24 Sep, 2012
Yes, I haven't seen your alter ego in quite a while.
