This is one of my favourite shrubs, so well behaved and so bright and cheery on a miserable winter day. Mine's 9 years old now and about 5' tall now. I like that idea of training something through it but do you think that would detract from the lovely foliage at non flowering times?

I won't be trying it for some years, if at all - I wanted it as a focal point in the bed, so I might never do it!
