Lychnis in the Bed

Lychnis in the Bed (Lychnis artwrightii)

As a favorite bloomer this year, I thought another shot should be shared. Here my orange gnome showcases itself, in and out of bloom, only looking sad in the later season when the foliage freckles fading into green and yellow.

Thank you. It demanded attention, good thing it blooms midseason with many others or it would be even more overshadowing. :-)

The foliage colour is terrific as well. Even if there were no blooms, this plant would look great.

Thank you Bernieh. It is beautiful, until maturity. Once the flowering finishes, the purple fades to a yellowish green with freckles of black like the lower leaves you see here. This may be that I need to cut to the ground to deadhead like other lychnis I've had, but the season only gives me one flush before winter, so I leave it as is.
