Understated i think Meanie, looking Excellent great plants..

These grow wild like weeds in the woodlands in Japan ;o)
Therefore, for me, it's strange to see this plant grown in the garden. -- No offense meant here, it's simply my thought. By the way, the first line here sounds like Delonix, talking about tropical plants! Lol!!

Not really Scottish..Think of it a bit like Hosta's, it grows on a rhizome, so if it gets a little large just divide it. It is not invasive or difficult.

Cheers P....one last question - does the foliage disappear like Dicentra does later in the year.
I'm thinking - Dicentra, Hosta and this in a wee group - obviously the hosta would take over from the Dicentra but don't know what this does

Thing is though Scottish remember it will grow towards the light...so if you want it to arch over the pond make sure you plant it so that it will grow the right way.

Though about Sticki saying her's were spreading and not clumping P.....bought 3 - so will plant closely - then I can split at later date :)

It is simply by using division Sticki..These grow on a long Rhizome, I think that is an evolutionary thing so that the plant does not compete with itself for light...see meanies pic..but if you divide and replant two or three rhizomes right next to each other you get a good clump rather than a trail.
