I'm just hoping my soil doesn't dry out too much for their liking. I've tried them before but they didn't last more than a couple of years.

Ah.....I see....its one of those plants that loves Scotland! The nickname for them here is 'Kirrie Dumplings' after Kirriemuir. Here's some info. I found on the web. from Edinburgh Botanic Gardens.....https://stories.rbge.org.uk/archives/19766
"Most importantly Kirrie (Kirriemuir) was also where Major George Sherriff retired after his military and plant hunting careers. His garden, Ascrieve, is where he and his wife created a Sino-Himalayan homage to the landscapes and plants they saw and collected in the Himalaya and Tibet. Major Sherriff was generous with his plant collection giving plants away to visitors, friends and neighbours, with Primula denticulata presumably among them."

Some really interesting alpines seem to thrive in Scotland.
Just looked up Kirrimuir, & J M Barrie link.

I love these too,and have had mine for years..mainly white ones, and the occasional purple ones, which don't seem to self seed,or get big enough to split like the whites..I only had one like yours, and it didn't return the following year...

I have this...lots of, and the white ones in the back garden. Last summer I split my Rubins and popped the babies in to the veg. beds to overwinter. When I came to remove them and pot them up the roots were huge! and very deep. They really are strong plants :)
