Many thanks Ydd we did not buy it like this, OH was very successful with the bay tree so I decided to have a go with the Wisteria, it had not flowered in 10 years and as it was a gift we did not want to ditch it, thought it would improve it's appearance.....and this year, hey presto it flowered (should have been pink, was blue lol)

San it has taken 10 years for this one to flower.......the secret is to buy one that is flowering, then you know that it is not shy, we have two now, both flowered this year.

Yes did it about three years ago, got so fed up waiting for it to flower, decided it would look nice, we already have a plaited bay which OH did many years ago, and we were pleased with that, so away we went with the Wisteria.

thats very clever dotty, do you have to tie it in place till it stays put itself so to speak, was looking at some and over a £100 ready as a standard, do you rember which varity this was, some are smaller growing than others i think,

Hi San you do have to tie it in place until it can support itself and stake it.also. There are so many varieties to choose from, your best bet would be to Google smaller wisteria, the label that was on this particular plant showed a pink flower, and it was blue, it was a pressie given to us when we left the Midlands ten years ago from of our garden buddies, so have no idea which one it is.....sorry.
