Been busy in the front garden lawn cut all the annuals out , re-planted the barrel , I have left the baskets up too good to take down yet.
150 crocus planted , thats enough for today , start on the back garden tomorrow, I have added some photos … front and back garden, and 3rd flush of flowers on “Paula Jane Fuchsia” .

looking good Gg. that is a lot of crocus. are they in pots or borders or grass. I love crocus in the lawn. my oh hates it when he has to leave the grass long as the crocus build up for next year :o)

There is still so much colour in your garden still. Sure it will look wonderful with all those crocus. Hope you will post some pics when they come up

It's good to have a tidy up now and then. I'm glad you left your baskets though. It would be a shame to get rid of them when they are still so colourful.
Paula Jane looks fantastic ! :)

Morning everyone ....
Thanks Siris, Jenilewis , yes not bad for October and all the others who "likes"
Seaburngirl , they are all planted in the front border next to the pavement, sounds a lot 150 but quickly go down when plated in groups of 3 & 5 yes as I had the space plus side dont produce that much foliage try my best with a photo next spring....I already have daffs and aconites from last year, and one tiny patch of snowdrops.
Thanks Hywel glad you agree about the baskets , both had the same amount of plants (same colours) but as you can see one basket turned out red and the other yellow in the end but this has only happened over the past 6 weeks ?
Yes, Paula Jane has done so well and a "fantastic" from you gets a thumbs up from me ...
Back garden today ... and decking to treat , I have left it late !!!

Gosh all those crocus! you must have a very aching back! Your baskets still look amazing, mine went over weeks ago...I think I neglected them shamefully this year to be honest. Paula Jane is certainly looking good isn't she?
Happy gardening!

Your Alstro look brilliant! ;o)

Morning Waddy , funny enough back was fine planting bulbs but after treating the decking now I am full of aches & pains lol (at least its done and hasnt rained ) not a favorite task !!!
Petaltracey , yes the altros have done very well this year but would of liked a bit more sunshine like us all ...
Next job , clean out the greenhouse give a good wash down and start putting away all the tender plants.
How I am going to fit in is another mystery.

Garden looking wonderful Gg....Love that Dahlia.....Isnt Alstromeria 'indian summer' the longest flowering ever??....What do you do with it during Winter Gg?
9 Oct, 2016
Hi Moti
Thank you ...
Having a tea break (just finished the lawn) ... and catch up on here , its the first year I have grown " Indian Summer " its in a pot so will go in the greenhouse for the winter and a fortnightly weak seaweed feed through the winter as if anything like"Rock n Roll" should carry on flowering " Summer breeze" is still in flower as well, deffo want a few more as my garden lacks late flowers as the daylily have all finished flowering. And I have mentioned before I add pots to places that need a cheer up with some colour.
the dahlia is called " Vuurvogel " which means firebird in English I think a Russian fairytale as well ? I would have to check , if you have time I have on my photos earlier in the season and looks totally different.
Greenhouse tidy up next get all the old tomatoes compost out of the huge pots on to the borders while its still dry out.

Isn't it good to have so much colour in October....like everyone I do love the Alstromeria, on my list for next year...
We have to put chicken wire over the Crocus to stop the squirrels... good luck with the rest of the tidy up....

I can't kneel anymore so either sit or bend, my back came out in sympathy at the thoughts of all that bulb planting and then having the decking to treat..
Your garden is really doing you proud this end of the year, cannot believe how good your baskets look, long may it last as it really gives us a boost...

Hi Dotty , one thing I very rarely get is a squirrel thankfully but have a ambulance of wood mice, shrews and voles !! , yes try the alstos out, PM if you want a supplier as plugs etc take 2/3 years to get going properly and 50% fail in the first winter.
Linclass, thanks for the sympathy but my own doing, sitting sounds the best way forward and we find ways to get round to do the things we love, glad you like my baskets I am bit obsessive about them...
" as it really gives us a boost..." appreciated
