Enjoyed your Saracenias and Delphiniums :)
I wish I had more success with them but it's nice to see that other people do ...

Lovely Delphiniums and the Alstromeria is lovely too. I always used to grow them, just the common sort, but they are easier than trying to fight the Lily beetle, and I have seen some glorious colours recently, so they are going on a 'want' list!

A lovely show Gnarly, I do like Delphiniums but can only manage to hang onto my blue one, had that for years, tried lighter shades and did have a lovely appleblossom one but sadly it only lasted two years, strange isn't it, seeing yours I really must try again...

Thanks Linclass
the delphs are the queen of the border and like to be treated the same but look at the results ... I have joined the delph society as I was determined to grow some good uns as I have failed miserably in the past and have read so much and depending on which named variety you grow some last longer than others and every 2nd or 3rd year you have to take cuttings in the spring ... from what I have read the seeds from the big companies have lost their vigor and no longer look or grow like they did 10 years or more ago ... a good seed supplier is Larkspur Nursery have a nose as you can still plant seeds now but would need protection over winter being sown late ...
yes you must try again ...

I adore delphs, but have never been able to grow them. Too much shade I think + the slugs devour them before they have a chance to get established.

Thankyou Gnarly, I will check that out now, also I'll remember about the cuttings, I obviously tried too late in the year....
