My trip to Chelsea.2012

I took quite a lot of photos quite randomly but they seem to have come out well, the first one was my view as we came through the turnstyle, all those people as far as the eye could see!!! My heart sank, I knew it would be crowded but…………..

Come with me, enjoy and forget the crowds (so difficult to take a photo without people in it!) and hopefully enjoy the flowers.

This is how I like my border.

Hostas galore

Drumsticks!

For Hywel

Dripping with Orchids!

Wow.

More drumsticks and fox tails.

My type of garden again.

Loved this wooden apple, couldnt see price tag!

For Lil & Lou, Sticki, Pim & Nana, these had ‘led’ lights inside the frame for night time lighting, now there’s an idea!

Sit back with a nice cold drink and relax, this ‘chap’ mows your lawn for you!

For Karenfrance, not nearly as nice as yours!

Nice container planting.

I bet you were exhausted after it! I was totally shattered last year and it was cool then.
Thankyou for the pics - some beauties there. It is quite an experience.

Thanks Oji, Oh yes an experience alright, got overheated just walking around, at least i can now say i have been!!

Wow, not being at all familiar with Chelsea, this look into is brilliant! Thanks Gill.
Funny about the LED lights...I have been toying with that very idea :)

27 May, 2012

Some great shots there GM

Thanks girls, Sheilar & Lil, some of our local churches have put lights behind their stained glass windows so they can be viewed at night by passers by, such a great idea.
Lil, the glass in this pic. is encased into a frame and the lights are around the edge.(you can prob.see, no need to tell you! Lol)

lovely, I haven't been fortunate enough to get to Chelsea yet but intend to go one day. I bet the self drive lawn mower cost a lot!

27 May, 2012

Hi Ninja, I didnt like the crowds and we went on the hottest day! Think I will watch it all from my settee next year! re. lawn mower, couldnt see any prices displayed, wonder why? I heard the man saying this mower would mow the equvilant of 7 tennis courts in one go!!!!!! Say no more.

27 May, 2012

Lovely photos! Don't think I could cope with those crowds though... :))

27 May, 2012

Fantastic photo's G/M so glad you had a nice time,

27 May, 2012

Thanks Gera.I didnt like the crowds at all but my children bought me the tickets for a birthday treat so i had to go, it was far too packed for comfort and of course the weather was as hot as it comes!! Thanks Yorks I was glad my photos came out well, I was suprised really with all those people around Lol.

27 May, 2012

Know what you mean Hb.they do look like plates of food dont they? thank you. The photo does not do it justice really.

27 May, 2012

Thank you for showing the photos, and especially the cacti. They never show those on the tv progs :o( I know it was crowded but it must have been a wonderful experience going there ...

27 May, 2012

Least we've done it now Grandmage, never again though eh. Much prefer going to nice gardens with a plant sale.
Your photos look great, you saw some things I did'nt.

27 May, 2012

Hi Hywel, yes it was a nice day out but I dont really like crowds, if it had been empty (LOL) I would have loved every minute! My photo of the cacti doesnt show just how lovely they looked, people in the way!!!
Willi, Lol, I have just commented on your blog Lol. what a pair. I agree, a nice trip out to a decent GC and coffee there too is just what I enjoy. Its funny how different our photos are!

27 May, 2012

You've got some lovely pics there GM, amazing how different they are from Willi's. Some amazing gardens there. Bet it was uncomfortably hot walking round with all those people there. I'm with the two of you a nice garden, cup of coffee and a plant sale and I'm happy lol.

27 May, 2012

You must of pushed people out the way in the Pavilion to get some of them shots, Lol.

27 May, 2012

Really enjoyed your blog Gm, love the border pics too. It's a good job you never bought that apple...you may not have noticed...but something had been at it:-)

29 May, 2012

Hi Crissie, still got it, not in a hurry to get rid. If you ever go to Chelsea I think it would be best to join the RHS for the year and then you can go on members day (wednesday) which they say is not too bad!!!! Only ten thousand people instead of thirty thou.!!
BA. glad you liked the borders, i simply love that way of planting, random and colourful, Lol about the apple!! Bet it was so overpriced too!

29 May, 2012

So you didn't get sunstroke then!!!
Lovely pics, I like the same border as you and mine is looking remarkably like that, by self seeded accident!!
Gawd I would like a mower like that but not sure how it would handle my garden.
Glad you had a good day GM x

4 Jun, 2012

Cheers Lou, I almost got sunstroke!! Felt quite queasy at one point with all the walking in the heat but I recovered. Its funny you should say that about your border mine is like that too defo. a self seed accident, and I love it that way. I have 50/60 aquilega all colours and at the GC they are £6.99 per pot!!!!!!!!!!! My bronze fennel is looking really good this year Lou, nicely settled in and lovely and furry! x

4 Jun, 2012

I was wondering how the fennel was doing!!
I am about to do the strimming but can't get the machine to work, must get the garden looking good for another GoY friends visit!!!

4 Jun, 2012

Ooooh lovely Lou, who is coming to tea?

4 Jun, 2012

Sticki and Stevie The Terrible!

7 Jun, 2012

Brill, hope you all enjoy.

7 Jun, 2012

Thanks for the heads up, Grandmage...I don't know how, but sometimes I miss so much!!

Those gates are quite nice...but they wouldn't keep much in - or out, would they??? I agree, round one to Ivan! ;)))

I tell you, though, I daren't let myself loose somewhere like that...
...I could do with some lighting...and that robot mower...
Love that apple...hmm...I wonder if I know anyone who's "good with wood"??

Not to mention the plants!!!

What did you escape with, then?? ;)))

12 Jun, 2012

Lol Karen. Your gate is defo. the winner. I purchased a nice spinner for the garden, it not only spins but rotates too, its lovely, i have a pic. on my pics.
I agree, everything you see there, you want!

12 Jun, 2012

Oh, yes...I remember...I really like it, Gm!
I don't imagine that you would have had a lot of change left to get much else...
That's the trouble when presented with everything you could possibly want/need...and didn't even know it! lol!

12 Jun, 2012

How true! Lol

12 Jun, 2012

What a lovely selection of photos. I went this year too because I got a spare ticket from a GOY member for the Wednesday. Didn't find the crowds too bad compared with the Saturday when I usually go because i like the madness of the sell-off at the end. I especially liked the Grand Pavilion. But your pictures are brilliant and give a real flavour of the show.

30 Jun, 2012

How kind Inverglen, think you picked the right day to go but that was members day wasnt it? Thursday was nuts far too crowded to the point of 'silly'. Still the sun shone and we enjoyed what we saw, I'm glad I have photos to prove I went because i wont go again!!
