I'm sure they'll be ok. I don't mind the spiders in the house although everyone else does :))

I get lots in my garden, the sheds and the greenhouses, I don`t mind them when they are tiny, trouble is they grow and then I am terrified, lol....

I photographed some last year as well but I haven't noticed any this year so far .

Yes as long as they stay outdoors Lincs, then thats ok. We haven't got any yet Guitar fingers but I'm sure we will. Its usually a bit later in the year when we get them, strewn across all the paths and you get caught up in them. One of my friends won't even visit us when they are around, unless I go round with a cane moving them out of the way! Welcome to goy.

I am absolutely terrified of them! In fact sometime I wonder if it is adrenaline addiction that keeps me gardening! I go around the garden doing stuff but often don't dare go in any of the corners. Sometimes I get so shaky I have to go indoors and sit down. :(
However this year I have come to terms with money spiders and baby garden spiders, and even moved one (hanging on its thread) to a plant with lots of greenfly on it. It didn't touch the greenfly though.

Well done , Fuzexi , your getting there by the sound of it ! I can cope as long as they don't touch me .
Welcome Guitarfingers , I saw some in the greenhouse last year , and didn't twig what it was at first ; quite an
amazing sight isn't it ? My photos didn't turn out too well though !

Welcome to GoY, Guitarfingers If you really like gardening then this is the site for you! I'm sure you will find us to be a friendly bunch on here! :-))
I've never been "keen" on spiders but now I find myself a lot more tolerant of the than years ago when I used to kill house spiders on sight - as long as they were at a broom's length from me! Now I can even go to sleep with them not more than 18" from my nose! (While they are small, that is!)
When we lived in Spain my wife (!) would have to get them out of our bedroom before I could go in! They also seem to like the baths but they seem to find it difficult to climb out once in! Some were enormous black things - nothing like our garden spiders in the UK. Just bringing them to mind brings on the goosebumps & cold shivers up & down my spine!
I still wouldn't like to be in the bath/bedroom with one of those but they no longer provoke the fear that I felt back then.
