Autumn light

The sunlight is intense at this time of the year, with dramatic contrast between light and shade.

I have tried making crab apple jelly in the past but I’ll be leaving the crab apples to the birds this year.

The michaelmas daises are a bit scraggy looking but when the sun hits them they are beautiful in their way – and the bees love them.

This is penstemon ‘raspberry ice’ – its petals are almost translucent.

It’s turned very cold tonight – this colour may not be around much longer.

Liked your photos...and yes, I think there is a distinct nip in the air and it won't be long til the frost is upon us.

Enjoyed your photos HackneyRobin, definately a change in the weather, although its been quite warm and sunny here in the Midlands during day time, we had to scrape the frost of the car this morning but the rest of today has been lovely in fact spent hours in the front garden starting on the make-over.
