i sent a pic via email after speaking to my nan to find out if what was taking over one of my flower bed was a weed or a flower. only to find out that she thinks its a member of the mint family and that it can take over my flower bed. she thinks the flowers are not very significant that will come with it. i was gutted i had my fingers crossed hoping that it would be some gorgeous flower and that would be that flower bed complete. so i have got to dig it all up when the rain stops! and decide what to put in its place. although i live on the outskirts of the city i want to have a country feel to my garden so will be looking for something to fill its space. i love fox-gloves so tempted to go purchase quite a few to fill its space..

can you give me your opinion on this plant as well i do trust my nan as she has spent her whole life in the garden. but i guess i still have my fingers crossed that its a flower lol…

Hi... I think this is a type of Lamium.

...find Michaella's latest blog "The Invaders in My Garden" and look at the photos, and the comments by members below her pics.

Compare the pics. not the Meerkats..Lol.

I hope this helps :o)

I am inclined to agree with your Nan, the leaves seem to curve the wrong way to be Lamium. Have you tried googling 'mint' and matching your plant with the images Google gives ? You may find your plant there.

Could it be a campanula of some sort, mine looks a bit like that, pink bells and very invasive.

i haven't seen any pink bells on it plus i have now to the best of my ability dug it all up. i'll probably have some more sprout up somewhere but for the meantime it leaves another space to fill lol.
