the mess next door!!

thought i should show what a mess next doors garden is as i have been mentioning it a few times. although the house has been sold still no one in there doing any nwork yet.

the top one shows just some of the mess which i can view from my top decking areathe trampoline on its side is a 12ft wide one. so you can see its not very nice to look at. the second is a pic of what is growing up destroying my pergula and continuosly creeping inbetween my honeysuckle. im having to lean over and use a rake to pull it back.

I feel for you, actually that garden looks tame compare to the one next door to me. I have the same problem, the garden next door is over 200 feet long, it is non stop pushing gigantic weeds and miles long brambles back. Not to mention the grass snakes, muntjacs, rabbits, foxes etc, which constantly try to get into my garden to eat my plants :((( Good luck, hope they start paying some attention to their garden soon.

the house is laying empty still although its been sold and needs a lot of work done i just hope they have the ecenccy to at least pull it away from the edges and trim the hedge at bottom down as it is a monster both wide and high. but i have a funny feeling it will not be top of there list of things to do.
but i must say that with it being such a mess even when mine is looking pretty miserable i feel like im in a palace compared to next door lol.

It's so frustrating isn't it? I'm ok now, but I've been in a similar position in the past and next doors garden invaded mine. Unfortunately, I have always found that the garden is always at the bottom of the list when it comes to renovating a new house for the new owners. I hope they don't take too long to tackle their own garden.

What a mess :o(( I hope someone takes it in hand soon.
At least it won't grow much more now during the winter.

it has been suggested to me that i just spray alot of weedkiller over but i dont see why i should. i have my own weeds to contend with as it is. my garden is 100ft long and the one next door is not much shorter so you can imagine how much that would cost me. im going to have to be very patient and wait for some action!!

Try to think of it as a conservation area...

I don't think I'll moan about Jim (one of my neighbours) corner of Nettle and Willowherb again.
I think Steragram's suggestion got the right idea :)

Know just how you feel, we have a building plot next to us covered in ground elder, bindweed and every other nasty weed you can think of, drives me mad, constantly spraying roundup under the hedge to stop the weeds invading my garden, we see the owners once in a blue moon, why don't they get on with building!!!!!!!, 11 years since they bought it, know just what you mean I feel like going round with a flame thrower, lol, but why should I the gardens 200ft long same as mine and as you say enough work on looking after my own, right rant over :-))

it probably wouldn't be so bad if it was just overgrown, but the trampoline is an eyesore! I think I would be tempted to nip in there and get rid of it !

I would rather have that next door though than someone who concreted the whole garden as they hated gardening....

and how lovely to have muntjacs next door!! lucky you!

can i ask a silly question whats a munjac?!

27 Sep, 2012

not a silly question! its a very small species of deer. I think they originated in Japan and china, but don't quote me on that!

thankyou Gerberavicki i think i still have a lot to learn.

Muntjac deer are small and have horns-quite ugly. Roe deer are native and small but not as small as Muntjac.

I would go in the garden next door and at least flatten the trampoline so it looks less ugly.
