I can’t believe we’re into the second month of the year. Where did January go ? It only feels like two minutes since new year’s day …
but I actually saw some signs of life in the garden today.
Several clumps of Snowdrops …
Bergenia …
Iris reticulata …
Daphne odorata …
Helleborus niger …
Cyclamen coum …
(new plants but the ones in the ground are also flowering)
I hope all your gardens are waking up, spring is just around the corner :)

Thank you both ...
It isn't very warm here either Klahanie, I haven't done anything in the garden since the autumn.
We have robins all year round but I don't think they're the same ones as you have on Vancouver Island.
I have two types of Snowdrops Eileen, the ones in the picture are always earlier than the others. The others look more like wild ones but these are stumpier.
I think C. coum are lovely too, I keep buying new ones especially if they have nice leaves.

Lovely signs of spring, Hywel. Hellebores are appearing here slowly, but not much else yet. I'm itching to cut stems down but know I have to wait a while yet.

I'm not cutting things back yet either Anget it's only just February and we may get bad weather .

Quite a few flowers showing for you Hywel. I have only a few yellow crocuses, & Erica carnea. Bought a £1 bunch of daffs at the supermarket yesterday,to really remind me that Spring is coming, hooray!

Lovely blog, Hywel. Spring is definitely here in your colourful pics. The Daphne is going to be a gorgeous shade of deep pink. I’m pleased - not to wish our lives away - that we are in to February!

Hywel, it really is cheering to see some colour in the garden at last! I planted some Crocus by a little stone/rock that Megan used to lay against in the sun and was so pleased to see some are in bud . . . :o)
