New Decking

At the bottom of my garden I had three cold frames and a raised bed, with slabs in between them.
However, the slabs had become uneven as the ground settled, making it difficult to walk there,
and weeds were growing in between the slabs, and I wasn’t able to keep it tidy.

This made me decide to cover the area with decking so that it would be easier to look after and safer to walk on,
so I engaged a local handy man to do the work … he’s done several things for me in the past and he’s very good.

First of all I had to move the three cold frames, and two of them were dumped on top of the raised bed, out of the way. There was nowhere else to put them :-

Then the frame for the decking was constructed :-

Decking going down :-

It is made from some reconstituted stuff, which won’t get slip or rot, and will last longer than I’ve got left to live on this planet !

After the decking had been put in place I brushed it and ‘hoovered’ it with a garden vac, and here’s a view of the decking, with Bella inspecting the garden vac :-

Another view of the decking, with Bella nosing in through the shed window :-

An other view, showing a perspex shelter that runs along the whole length of the shed (old garage) :-

Looking the other way :-

The walls of the shed (former garage) need attention – they had become covered with Ivy (now removed), and someone in the past has coated them with a kind of plasticky stuff, which is peeling off :-

Who’s that in my shed :O !!?

I placed one of the cold frames on some concrete bricks, so that I would not have to bend so much to put things in and get them out again.

I will have to decide where the other cold frame will go but there’s plenty of time because I won’t be putting anything in them yet, so it’s still on top of the raised bed.

The third cold frame will remain where it is – on the patio by the back door :-

Before the handyman left he said “I suppose the next time I come here I won’t be able to see the decking for all the pots you’ll have covered it with !”
And I think he was speaking the truth :D
