Back to the patio!

Seeing as the soil sifter project is now at a standstill I decided it was time I finally finished the patio.

I laid the last few slabs and then started on the borders that will surround it!

Just to remind you all what it looked like……..

So I started to dig…..

and dig……

and dig some more!

I did get some help though! Lol

It’s hard going through equal parts of gravel and half bricks!

I gave up at this point as I had shovelled eight barrow loads and there was a pizza on the go.

I’ll let you know when I get some more done…………..

I bet those chickens are the happiest in England Ian. Looks great.

Thanks Doctorbob, they are rather spoilt! Lol

They have their pen to keep them safe when we're not around but spend most of the time running lose in the garden. They're quite good at weeding for me!

4 Aug, 2010

Very useful - except when you start planting! I wonder if you could teach them which are plants and which are weeds, Ian?

4 Aug, 2010

This has already shown itself to be a problem Spritz, we have to keep an eye on them as, eventually, they make their way to our one and only flower bed and look longingly at the geraniums and platycodons etc.

By the way, we have one white, one blue and one pink platycodon! Lol

Very patriotic Ian (nearly).

Lol Doctorbob! :~))

Don't forget to mark the spot for those Platycodons - they disappear completely over winter, and its really easy to dig the beggars up without realising in the Spring...

4 Aug, 2010

Thanks for the advice Bamboo, I nearly threw them on the compost heap this spring as they were in pots and I thought they were dead. It was only because I forgot about them that they survived!

4 Aug, 2010

ah, well there you go then - must remember to mark where mine are too, lol!

5 Aug, 2010

Great blog! It's all coming together, Ian, step by step....

12 Aug, 2010

I think it's going to take a couple of years to get the whole garden done. Keep watching and I'll keep posting! Lol

You have me hooked, Ian! Don't worry my friend, it took us 12 years to pull our garden together, but at least you will know exactly what's under the soil now~it must be about time someone nurtured that poor garden, only sorry you got stuck with the worst of it!

12 Aug, 2010

Lol Flori, Don't say 12 years....... I'll give up now! ! !

13 Aug, 2010

No you won't. Knowing you, you'll try to speed up...so just be careful, young Ian!

What's your weather like up there today?

13 Aug, 2010

It's raining and cold.......... I know it's good for the garden but I would like to see the sun occasionally! Lol

How is Henry this morning and how are you?

13 Aug, 2010

It's kind of half-sun and half-cloudy here.

I'll PM you.

13 Aug, 2010

Have you had any rain yet? I know you said you needed some!

13 Aug, 2010

Nope. Not a drop!

13 Aug, 2010
