a different way to use an umbrella

my street was a good 4" of pack ice but very similar to this.

not good for walking on, and no salt or grit here either ,no salt in any shops...

we found that today too. all sold out. tempted to use table salt.

none of that in shops here anywhere..:0)

luckerly its finally melted here just a few bumps about here and there,,:o))

Our pavement and side road have only been gritted once since the snow started, it is nigh on impossible to walk any where.

Sorry you have such terrible weather. We have had no snow at all but I'm sure we'll get it soon :o(((

mavis,we havent had any gritters at all on side roads or small streets where its needed most.
i know the photo isnt very good hywel,lol its a lady scraping the ice with an umbrella while hubby waits in car :o))

What first class stupidity! She could have been there with her umbrella until it thawed. She'd have been better off with a spoon!

Yes 2 days of solid rain here too Spritz, yesterday I saw someone riding a bike in the wind and rain with an umbrella up! Mad people round here too. LOL
Rain has only just seen off the last of the impacted ice, no gritters on side roads or pavements here either :o((

i can see where the vulture comes into it now ,lol handy things these umbrellas, on a bike!!!! like to have seen that...
