not fair to charge that much also they know that many commuters don't have much of a choice when they go into these service station if only to take a rest or other facilities.....

these modern coffee places are a complete rip off joan, they have a similar one in our hospital now and costs a fortune, i dont think its fare on people with not alot of money, hopitals should have the old fashioned cafe where its cheap and cheerfull, i wont pay it, not because i am tight but just feel ripped off
27 Apr, 2010
hi Sandra , in hospitals there is usually the WRVS cafes or dont they have them now, i havent been to a hospital in a while,i am the same though dont like being ripped off,not when you can buy a jar of coffee for £3..:o))
27 Apr, 2010
well they dont have them now in our hospital joan, its one of these italian names lol, i use to like the old way, got to have a chat with the ladies but now they just give you your expensive coffee and not even a smile.
27 Apr, 2010
i cant believe that, fancy stopping it, the ladies enjoyed it too i suppose it was company for some of them and somewhere to feel useful..its all about money now sad but true..
27 Apr, 2010
yes your right joan, all about money, the NHS trust will get a good some of money for rent i guess, all goes to the hospital so we have to blame the goverment really, for all cut backs
27 Apr, 2010
eh i dispair,we are going backwards instead of forwards..it needs a few women to run this country ,....sorry guys only joking :o)))

We learned the hard way too,a long time ago.The Costa ones are the dearest of all.We takea flask now,if travelling a long way.Even in the towns, these upmarket ones are a rip off too.We usually look for a Wetherspoons,as most places have one...small Cappucino,Latte,etc..99p large £1.29.p.if you ask for a card, they will stamp it,and when you have 5 on,the 6th is free, and its a large one(tea or coffee.)
There was even one in Windsor, which I didn't expect...
27 Apr, 2010
i think its to pay for all the take out paper cups dont you, so really the take out should be dearer not inside
27 Apr, 2010
i am going to get a flask, we have an old one for the allotment but need a good one ,not that we go out that often now, but its worth it in the long run..thats a good idea Bloomer to get the stamps..then theres the recycling of cups.......
27 Apr, 2010
Its a complete rip off I know but we usually share the one cappuchino which we take away. Costa charges £1.50 for croissant so I buy a packet from Tesco which is about 99p for four I think.
28 Apr, 2010
hi lab the mark up on food & drink is stupid i remember last summer in sorry.... Sanbaz...Blackpool my daughter got a toasted teacake 90p i took it back to confirm the price yes she said ,i was disgusted and said you could get a packet of 4 for that ..my daughter was mortified though when i went back to ask lol..good idea to share the coffee i will be taking a leaf out of your book ..:o)
